crApple

I was looking into the Apple MacBook as it is a small, reasonably fast and reasonably affordable ‘notebook’, but after seeing this site I think I will pass. It is a pity, because I keep coming back to Apple. Other brands don’t have laptops this fast for the same price or they’re either too big or too damn ugly…

My son’s fiancee has a MacBook, which is just a couple of weeks over a year old. A few days ago, it totally died, No warning,no signs and symptoms, no coughing and sputtering, no clutching it’s chest in agony - just kaput, from one second to the next, and that was the end of it. It’s being serviced now at the Apple store - looks like the hard drive crapped out. Think twice before you venture into MacLand. But then again… electronic gadgets seem to be crapping out right and left these days. In the last 2 years, I’ve bought two mp3 players, both of which have died (frozen) within the first 3 months of purchase. The first one was a Dell, and the second one was by Creative Labs. Needless to say, I’m not too impressed. Maybe I should have bought an Apple Ipod. Oh, the irony.
