Yesterday afternoon I drove to Utrecht again, looking for a place. I was supposed to see three houses, but one already seemed to be taken. Of course it was the affordable one. Well, least expensive one is more like it. 730 Euros for a 3 room appartment. The two I did see yesterday are both between 900 and a 1000 euros.

The first one seemed to be 40% hallway. For some strange reason the architect seemed to think this was necessary. The apartment was on the ninth floor and had a nice view of some shops surrounding it. It also has a nice view of the city center of Utrecht.

The second one is in a pretty building. The building has a strong curve though, so the walls are not parallel anywhere in the house. It also had a huge loggia in the living room. I still don’t get those. What is the point of those? They are a sort of indoor balcony that takes quite a bit from your living room. This one didn’t have the appliances I want though. I don’t feel like bringing my own fridge, freezer and dish washer.

So both weren’t very interesting. I still have an option on a place. It’s quite expensive though, so I will keep looking. I am still in Utrecht and might drive around some neigbouring towns this afternoon to look at the housing there.
