This year people in the Netherlands spent over sixy million euros on fireworks. You can only set off fireworks here on the last day of the year from 10am until 2am of the first day of the year. The rest of the year it’s illegal.

This year I went outside just after midnight, slightly blotto from all the prosecco I had been drinking, and I couldn’t see a thing. It was so foggy I could hardly see the street light in front of my parents’ house. So I heard the noises of the fireworks, but I couldn’t see them. Oh well, small loss. I just went back inside.
