The Canon EOS 450D is out
Hm, this is not the one I was hoping for. I was hoping Canon would bring us a replacement for the 5D today. Instead they crammed even more megapixels in a cropped sensor and brought us the 450D. I bet image quality and high iso performance will suffer.
The body and grip are bigger though and I bet this one will fit much better in my hands than the too small EOS 400D. They also added spot metering, which almost every digital slr already had. A good thing. Of course it has live view too. An option I really don’t care about. If I want live view I’ll get a point & shoot.
All in all I don’t know what to think about it. It looks like a very interesting camera, but will it perform well enough to keep Canon’s reputation up for high image quality and good performance at high iso?

One thing I know for sure… it will take pictures. ;-)
