This morning the longest combined length of all traffic jams in the Netherlands was 888 kilometres. A good reason to cheer as it means we came in second. Only once was there a longer combined length of all traffic jams. This was on the 8th of February in 1999. That day the total length came to 975 kilometres.

When I got up this morning and saw the snow I figured I had better get into my car as soon as possible. I left the house at 7:30am and drove onto the parking lot of ‘my’ company at 9:05am… It took me twice as long today to drive the measly 49 kilometres to work.
