A nice castle

Hardly travel, since it’s almost right outside my house, but I ran into this channel on the first bike ride after moving to my new place. It was renovated/redesigned at the end of the nineteenth century by Etienne van Zuylen van Nijevelt and his wife Helène de Rothschild. They moved a whole town for this redesign and brought 40 year old trees from a forest north east of Utrecht. The trees were taken right through the center of Utrecht. For this trip they actually had to break down houses…
