Busy week

April 18th, 2008 by Wenslauw

It was another busy week. We had to release several new versions of our web sites and I had a lot of meetings this week. Which meant some travelling between offices in Haarlem, Schiphol and Amsterdam. I don’t mind having to move around a lot. In the car between offices I have the opportunity to reflect on things and it’s nice to be in different environments.

Monday to wednesday I’m in the old office in Haarlem with all the techie people, thursdays I visit the Schiphol office with some management and content specialists (and lots of my ‘real’ colleagues) and then on friday I’m at the headquarters with the suits and about a hundred bunnies in the park around the office buildings.

This wednesday I went to J-Spring, a Java conference. I went to a lot of speeches about interesting subjects like Wicket, the use of kanban in software development, the Nasa World Wind Java SDK and some Spring related stuff. There I also met a lot of old colleagues. Lots of networking going on there. My company also had a booth there. I made some pictures of it.

In an hour I’m off to Amsterdam for a meeting there and after that I’ll go home to pack and then I’m off to Groningen. There I’m going to have a beer or two with some ex-colleagues. It’ll be fun.
